Sticky Rice started 1999. We we're looking for a place for us and our friends to have somewhere to work. So we bought a restaurant by the name of Gumbo Ya Ya's. We had enough money to paint and sweep, but we turned it around in 2 weeks and opened Sept 1st 1999. We had to juggle some things here and there but you gotta do what you gotta do.

The concept came from mixing 2 totally different styles of cooking and see how it works. Also trying to do something that the Fan had never had before. No one thought it would work...neither did we.

But thanks to amazing friends and our parents we are still here.
