There are two awesome festival events going on this weekend. The Carnival of Five Fires festival at Gallery 5 (200 W. Marshall st.) kicks off this Friday with a Party Liberation Front visual art show featuring carnival performers, interactive art and, and a James Brown cover band. The fest continues every Friday for the rest of the month, and all events are from 6:00pm-11:00pm.
The Richmond Zine Fest will also be taking place this Saturday at the Gay Community Center of Richmond (1407 Sherwood Ave.) This event has been going on annually in Richmond since 2007 and features seminars on issues like gay and workers rights, as well as plenty of tables with awesome zines!
