Here are a few select local Richmond events to get your weekend going….
FRIDAY
Hoax Hunters EP release show at Strange Matter (929 W Grace)- This early show goes from 6-9pm and it’s free! Local Indie acts Hoax Hunter play with Auto Defiance and Tyrannosaurus Awesome in support of their new EP.
Afterwords, another Indie show kicks off at Strange Matter with Turbo Fruits, Super Vacations, and The Milkstains. This show starts at 9pm, and it’s $7 to get in.
DJ Long Jawns also spins at New York Deli (2920 W. Cary) from 10pm-2am, and there’s no cover charge!
SATURDAY
Come out to River City Rumble to get a taste of the real underground warehouse rave scene right here in RVA. The show goes from 7pm-10am and features over 20 DJs, including such big names as DJ 2rip and Ill Omen. It’s $25 bucks at the door, $17 for pre-sale tickets. Follow the link and message the promoters on facebook for the location, it’s on the D.L!
Finally, you have another brutal option for Saturday night if the rave scene isn’t your thing: check out a brutal thrash metal show at Strange Matter and enjoy the ripping sounds of Vektor, Richmond’s own Battlemaster, Earthling, and Midnight Eye. The show starts at 10pm, and cover is only $8!
