Everyday, thousands of macaroni noodles are wasted when they’re made inedible with glue, glitter and paint.

Rather than stop your child’s artistic endeavours, KRAFT has created an iPad app that lets your kids make digital macaroni art—that also saves your noodles for dinner.

The app ‘Dinner, Not Art’ lets you place, rotate, and paint noodles of various sizes, on a canvas of your child’s choice—without ever wasting a single real noodle.

When done with the artwork, your child just has to ‘glue it down’ and save it on a digital refrigerator.

KRAFT will post the macaroni masterpieces on its Facebook and Pinterest pages.

And until 31 December 2012, for every noodle used in the digital pieces, KRAFT will be donating 10 real noodles to Feeding America.

The Dinner, Not Art app is available from the iTunes store, and will soon be made available for desktops and laptops.

The brand also released a tongue-in-cheek ad to accompany the app:
